For a quick fix you could wire the 5 speakers in series so they don't load the radio too much, then use a low-value wirewound potmeter to control the volume of the extension speakers.
I assume you don't want to disconnect the radio speaker and use the radio volume control?
You would need a wirewound potmeter of say 50 ohms, 10 watts or so, unless your radio is very powerfull.
Do you know how/where to get such a level control and how to connect it?
