i got a older sony str-de 845 htr and it has 2 blown fuses in it i looked everywhere locally and cant find the same thing its 8 amp 125 volt but its very small all the ones i find are 8 amp 250 volts anyone know where i could get a replacement or if i could use one thats diff and still be ok?

The nice thing about replacing fuses in your own equipment is nobody cares if they are different. Faced with your current dilemma, my second choice would be to solder in a different fuse holder with a standard size fuse.

Hi,
the voltage part of the fuse is the highest voltage that the fuse is guaranteed to break when an overcurrent event causes an arc to form across the melted ends of the fuse wire. I does no harm to use a fuse with a higher voltage rating. Using an 8A 250V to replace an 8A 125V is OK.
