Hi All,
Anyone know where to get a set of knobs for a Tektronix 2235 ? I need the volt / div shafts too. So far I've drawn a blank. Mine got damaged when I moved and I can't find any available. Otherwise the 'scope works fine. Those darn things get brittle as they age! I don't want to have to buy a "working" 'scope off Eeeek Bay. Some Tek. parts vendors and repair guys have told me they do not have stock. Tektronics has not replied - yet. They may have good news when they do. (I hope) I would think they can't help me or the repair shops would have simply said okay and ordered them for me. -Chris |

Hi Chris,
You may have to just have those machined, since no one seems to have any! Cheers, Clem |

Hi Clem,
Ouch!!! I did get a reply from EC8010 and Stocker who both offered solutions. A big thank you to both members! As a matter of fact, EC8010 did send a set of knobs to me. Although they appeared to be correct, they do not all fit. The shaft and a couple knobs will be useful. Many thanks! -Chris |

You're a sick, sick man. You know that don't you? I have a drill press and a Dremel tool. This just might work! -Chris |

Hi Clem,
The sad thing is, I have made a part from epoxy before. A broken nylon lever. A PITA to make. -Chris |

Hi Chris,
Friend of mine made one for his car stereo using a bottle cap as the epoxy mold! How do those knobs compare to the ones on Leader 'scopes? We have a number of dead units... Cheers Clem |

Hi Clem,
Special shafts and knobs. It's their own thing. What is wrong mostly with the Leader units? They are an okay 'scope (Hitachi), they had Y chip failures as I recall. One of mine died at the shop, but I did have it repaired. Just out of warranty Actually, the distributor was very good and went easy on me. I've known him for some time now and he is a really good guy.-Chris |
