PC loudspeakers potentiometer problem

Hi,

I have bought a Creative Megaworks 510D loudspeaker system, but due to some reason (guarantees and ****) I have to rebuild the potentiometer from scratch. The problem is that it uses the 6 pin telephone cable shown here:

Does anybody have any idea which cables should be connected with the potentiometer, or alternatively which measurements should be done to come up with an answer?

P.S Currently I haven't got the old one and I have checked for availability in Ireland and Greece with no result...
Also the potentiometer is for the satellites' volume...

hello, i have the same system, was just searching on here because i have a very weird problem with mine... (it randomly cracks and wizzes and other noises and doesn't play music anymore, well it seemed to play for like 5 seconds after i plugged it back in after having it unplugged for a few hours)

but do you still need that information? i tested it a long time ago, but i forget it, i have it here and a decent ohm meter, so if you still need it i'd be happy to make the tests for you

seems it took longer than 30 mins to get the results, so posting in a reply:

well i just looked at the date of your post, and it wasn't long ago at all, so i'm going to just assume that you still need it... but mostly because i'm bored, heres the measurements:

it only usese the middle 4 connections, so a standard 2-line phone cord plug is all you need, this appears gold plated, so if possible try to get that too mabye

maybe copy the tables below to something that supports tabs better, such as notepad?

measurement in ohms, polarity doesn't matter, 0 means connected direcly
this is all measured on a cheap ($20 US or so) multimeter, on 200k scale
(so where it says 20k, the display said approx 20, and i assumed that means k)

Volume right in the middle:
	Black	Red	Green	Yellow
Black	x	28k	47.5k	47.5k
Red		x	20k	20k
Green			x	0

Volume MIN
	Black	Red	Green	Yellow
Black	x	47.5k	47.5k	47.5k
Red		x	0	0
Green			x	0

Volume MAX
	Black	Red	Green	Yellow
Black	x	0	47.5k	47.5k
Red		x	47.5k	47.5k
Green			x	o

so R-G and R-Y goes up with the volume
and B-R goes down
that means that R-B controls the volume?

just incase you lost the old one, or its different or anything, when the clip is facing down, Black is on the right, and yellow is on the left
