A while ago I bought a variac. As I need to fire it up I need your help. I’m trying to connect it so I can have 220V AC out from the variac.
This is what I believe: 1) Using a standard multimeters I should set it for min 220V AC (this one 600V). 2) On wire should be connected to ground 3) One wire should read 0 V AC if I measure between the wire and ground wire. 4) The other wire should read 220V if I measure between ground wire and this wire and between the above wire and this “hot” wire. Am I correct? |

If this is your level of electronics knowledge, you are quite likely to blow something up or harm or kill yourself playing with high voltage. Please do much more reading on the subject!
but yes, that sounds right.
