I've acquired a bunch of knobs that, when backlit, the "pointer/indicator line" will light up. The backsides are clear plastic (resin?). They are just over 1 inch wide, for a 1/4" shaft.
So how is this done? Are there ready-made LED fixtures ? ...or must I futz with it on my own? =RR= |

As I recall the mil-spec lighted knobs were illuminated
from a blackend plastic panel with parts left white so a light say a small 327 lamp 24V could be put into the plastic in certian spots to illuminate both the panel and the knob. Steve @ Apex Jr. |

there is a device called a "light pipe" that is also used... optic fibers routed to a remote LED that carries the light thru the tiny fibers, to the knob
