Jensen 4 Pole Capacitors - better than Blackgate?

Hello,

Has anyone tried out the Jensen 4 pole electrolytic caps and compared them to Blackgates?

I keep tripping across anecdotal information that they compare favorably to (and may be even better than) Blackgates, but I haven't really seen read a head-to-head comparison.

I tried them briefly when I was experimenting with high capacitance snubberized PS. They were marginally better than Nichicon Super Through.

It's really hard to say how they compare to BG N caps, they are definitely different sounding, probably more neutral, but also less seductive

I may try these in a preamp I'm building. Looks like a good choice as a high-voltage caps in a tube circuit without breaking the bank.

I know what you mean about the Blackgates, though. I like their warm, seductive, musical sound, too. The N's are especially nice. If only the only the high-voltage filter caps could be cheaper....
