I have an obsolete IC that needs to be replaced. Anybody know a programmer that can make one?

The IC is Yamaha key assigner. It scans keys for synthesizer and send key-on data as well as key voltage.

And do you know what the data output is? Is it directly to the MIDI protocol?

It could be worked out with a PIC with enough ADCs, but I doubt someone will want to program this...

It is not Midi, it is Control Voltage. Hz/Volt protocol

I am not sure if this will help you, but I learned to use the LM331 and LM2907 at school and they are fairly easy to work with. The LM331 can be used as a voltage to frequency or a frequency to voltage. LM2907 is a better pick for low frequency application.

Not quite the same aspect. In this sense, Hz/volt is the way the synth tuning is set. The keys are divided into their determined range. Each key then spplies a voltage to a Voltage controlled Osc. In this case the synth has 37keys. The leftmost key needs to supply .25 volts. The rightmost key needs to supply 4 volts. Also the Osc needs a trigge to let it know start press and release time. In this case, keys provide 9 volts when idle and -4 volts when pressed.
