I didn't know reed relays... Seems interesting!

Are there some disadvantages compared to normal single coil relays?
Ok, found some, magnetic fields around it can switch it. So it should be shielded also.

As for advantages, I found a lot of them : Longer life, sealed contacts, etc.

By searching a bit... Wet reeds are better I suppose?(Except for the fact that the difference is the mercury...)

They are pretty silent I think also. By looking at some, I found that the relays in my synth are reed relays, and they don't make noise at all.

I think dual coil is better for noise and heat but is there a difference in life-time?
