Default Draloric .1% resistors

I bought 1100 of these in about 30 values from partsconnexion.com. Can anyone share personal experience using these in active crossover's or any other audio circuits etc? I hope they perform well? What is the sound characteristics of these? Any info or opinions would be appreciated.

I used some RN60 Dale 1% (brown ones) in my Westlake Crossover last week and hated the harshness of them in the upper freq.

Hi Ken,
Never had a problem with the Dale RN60's. Try the others, it may be the circuit.

Default Most likely not the resistors

Most people who fault those brown bodied beauties comment on them being too warm.
I think they are very neutral. A softer option is a carbon comp.

Interesting, having had 2 of you say that makes me scratch the head for sure. I had only replaced about 5% of the resistors on the filter board when I stopped and tested. Both boards left and right were identical.

Perhaps the combination of the two types of resistors (original TAW 1% metal films and the Dale 1% metal films) mixed together created a bad sounding filter?

I find the above hard to accept but I was not imagining the poor high frequency results combined with a decrease in imaging and depth of sound stage.

One thing that would make this much easier would be a schematic so I could figure out what resistors are doing what but they won't supply a schematic. This crossover retails for well over 10,000.00 and schematics are not handed out.

As stated, you have me scratching my head.

Thanks
