Hi UPUPA EPOPS
>And what is " nice for audio ", Forr ? Some excaved transformer from the year 26' ? There has been a lot of discussions on this forum about pros and cons of toroidal transformers. From them, I retained that they are not the best suited for immunity against mains parasitics. So I define "nice for audio" by negativity as avoiding defects, otherwise said : "blameless". ~~~~~~ Forr §§§ |

Plitron's standard toroid transformers are very nice but pricey. You'll also have to wait 4-6 weeks for them to make and deliver one.

Digikey has a PC mount 9-0-9 transformer that would suit your needs at a reasonable price - part number TE70081-ND
parts express has an 18V Avel that is a bit large, at 160VA, but under $40 Avel Lindberg will also sell direct, and has a broader range than PE carries, including a couple of options for both of your requirements. Although not quite the reputation of Plitron, their Chinese made Y23 line is good quality. I have used a few higher power ones. No mechanical noise and good regulation. Toroid of Maryland www.toroid.com also sells direct and makes good quality transformers. I used their products, too. Victoria Magnetics has an excellent reputation, and will do customs at near standard prices. Do you need both voltages for the same project? they'll probably be able to wind you a dual secondary transformer for less than two individuals. The catch is the wait - about the same as mentioned for Plitron. |

Dear all......
i got some information from you guys..... thank you for that ...... the reason i need to use toroid transformers because i have not much place to put nice Ei or some other nice transformers...so i need to save some spaces....otherwise, the reason why i don't want to buy toroid transformers at digi key because they do not offer 9-0-9 and 18-0-18 in ONE!! the second reson is I preffer transformers made in USA or in Eourp .....0.0" By the way......this transformers is for my Studer 727 CDP.....0.0a |
