Default resevoir cap. replacments, recommended makes

10,000 uf 50 volts, snap in types, please, following on from the decision not to uprate them severely.

good ones to go for.

jap amp with about 30 volt rails, and frame type mains tx.

Can you provide the dimensions? Diameter, Height, and hole spacing?

What your are looking for is a "low-ESR" cap. brand is less critical than many people would want you to believe.

Try Jensen 4-poles for an interesting experiment (if you can accommodate them in your circuitry). Jensen caps are well regarded by not a small number of people who have used them. Black Gates are probably the best, but they are very expensive. Cornell-Dubilier make excellent capacitors.
