What wire are you using in your ICs?

Just curious what wire you guys are using on your DIY IC's.

I made myself some cables using construction similar to some Kimber things just to see if I could hear any difference between them and the cheap cables that came with some of the components. I braided three, teflon insulated, 20 ga., silver plated wires with two connected to the connector shells and one connecting the signal pins.

I can't hear any difference, but they look sort of neat (I chose some bright colors), if you like to look at cables, and I'm too lazy to put the old cables back, so there they stay.

I also made myself and a friend some speaker cables using twisted pair ribbon cable. I can't hear any difference between mine and the 10 ft of zip cord I was comparing them to, but my friend, whose cables are about 20 ft long, swears by them. They are very low inductance and very high capacitance cables (if I recall, they were 24 pairs in each cable). My friend has been using them for years, but I went back to 12 ga. zip cord- it is much easier to conceal in the listening room (if you have rugs on a hardwood floor, ribbon cable is pretty easy to conceal).

Using Cardas bare silver, 5 N's, with teflon sleeving for chassis and crossover wiring, and the Cardas 6N's teflon jacketed copper for interconnects. I'll publish construction details, but there are a couple of teflon tubes involved also. The silver not fully settled, but the IC's compare very favorably with the WireWorld Eclipse III+ Golds. Several other wire types and constructions were used, but all failed to live up to hopes.

The IC's use Vampire 800C's; I have a set of Eichmann Bullets, as yet untried.
