Hello people!
I need a stepped volume attenuator and a source switch for my tube preamplifier. What do you guys recommend, one volume control for each chanel or a balance control like the Dact CT3? Do you guys think that the Dact products worth the money? It is possible to build a equal quality control? Guilherme |

Ok,
I'll use one MONO attenuator for each channel. The Dact use series resistors, so the audio pass trough all the resistors. I found this one here :http://www.goldpt.com/prices.html were the resistors are in parallel so the audio pass trough only 2 resistors. Does anyone know this ladder type attenuator? would be better than the Dacts? |

Michal Percy has real good stepped attentuator kits. High quality stuff.
Build a mono pair, or stereo. Either way you certainly don't need a balance control. |
