OK, this is going to be an electronics 101 lesson for me, but I have a few questions:
1. Do inductors have polarity? If so, is it such that the outer lead (the one on the outside of the coil's circumference) is the positive and the inner lead (on the inside of the coil) is negative? 2. Do film caps have polarity? If so, do I determine this by reading the text on it from left to right, and use the left lead as positive and right as negative? 3. Resistors to my knowledge, have no polarity, correct? 4. Can I connect all ground connections to a single point, including driver ground? That is what I've done thus far. Thanks for any wisdom you can impart! Paul |

1 Yes but it's more like "windning polarity". In the way you wonder no.
2 No. Have you ever seen a film capacitor with any kind of polarity mark? ![]() 3 No ![]() 4 Yes ![]() Hint: You could always check the datasheet for a part if you wonder.

Thanks Per-Anders, this is what I was hoping to hear. I am troubleshooting a crossover problem, and simply wanted to ensure I wasn't too much of an imbecile!
BTW, great review of the 2.5! Thanks again, Paul |
