Need hEEEEEEEElp!!!! wiring problem!!!!

Hello and thanks to all audio fanatics...

I need help connecting and wiring this gear:

Mesa Boogie Triaxis preamp 6'3 jack balanced output ---> Klark Teknik Dn-405 parametric equaliser XLR balanced input (pin 2 hot jumper ON) ; and

DN-405 XLR UNBALANCED output (pin 2 hot jumper ON) ---> TC Electronics G-Force UNBALANCED 6'3 jack input.

I think the correct wiring should be:

TRIAXIS BALANCED JACK OUTPUT: TIP (+), RING (-), SLEEVE (G)

DN-405 BALANCED XLR INPUT: PIN 1 (G), PIN2 (+), PIN 3 (-)

DN-405 UNBALANCED XLR OUTPUT: PIN1 (G), PIN 2 (+), PIN 3 (DISCONNECTED)

G-FORCE UNBALANCED JACK IN: TIP (+), RING (G)

But I get -6 dB and a high frequency loss at the output of the DN-405 in comparison to the Triaxis output!!! Also, it sounds perfect if I turn off the DN-405. (???)

Hi guitaratiug,

I'm not sure I totally understood your setting but whenever you connect a balanced output with unbalanced adaptors, you lose 6db.

That would explain your loss, wouldn't it?

Thank you for your reply, but

The signal path goes from an UNBALANCED XLR (where pin 1 and 3 are connected in the output) to an unbalanced input jack. There should be no signal loss at all in this case!

[My conclusion is that it may be occuring an impedance problem...]
