Default converting PCB layout to older stripboard style??

Hi, I'm building a guitar amp head based on the schematics and the Ampeg technicians' PCB board layout diagrams from the late 60's.

My initial plan was to emulate the circuit layout of the original PCB board by drilling out a new Fender style stripboard, soldering the parts down, and do all the jumpering on the back, based on the original PCB layout.

But, looking at the diagrams carefully, there are a LOT of crossing of connections and there will be lots of parallel wiring. The back of the board looks like it could be a jumpered variable capacitance mess.

So my question is: Should I stay true to the original PCB layout as much as possible with the stripboard, or should I create a new strip board layout which utilizes these lead dress issues better?

Any of you DIYers have experience with this before?

Thanks.
