wirewound pot as volume control

I need a stereo high precision pot for volume control, since the most precise are the wirewound type has anyone experienced them in that position?

I remember audio designer John Curl recommending a wirewound multiturn linear dual pot from Spectrol as a very nice sounding volume control.
Unfortunately he did not mention the actual part number.
Very interesting topic this about alternatives to common plastic pots like ALPS RK series.
