9v to 12v conversion

i have a alesis meq-230 and i want to put it in my car, how would i go about doing this?? preferably w/o an inverter

According to the manual it takes 9VAC, so an inverter is just about your only option.

99% sure that it works just fine with 12-15V dc as AC is anyways rectified and filtered inside that box to DC. to remove that 1% possibility of "semiconductors emitting smoke" its recommended to open it up and checking its not using any abnormal power supply topology
