I need some long threaded binding posts for my current speaker project. All up I need six pairs...

I found some at futurelec that fit the bill nicely, but they are 1/10th the price I have seen elsewhere.... Has anyone used these? scroll to bottom of this page --> http://www.futurlec.com/Banana-Posts.shtml

I can't tell if they are gold plated or not from the picture, I suspect not...

the ones I have found here in Aus are these ---> http://www.altronics.com.au/index.asp?area=item&id=P2004 which look very similar! when taking exchange rate and postage into account I'm looking at about $15 for futurlec, and $60 for the others!

Thanks Brian :) I was originally thinking I'd get some of the parts express ones, until I found that the shipping was a minimum of $33 US!!!

It's a shame that the Australian branch of Futurlec doesn't have the posts, I'd be able to go and check them out :)

Tony, When you order via the Australian site, the parts all come from Thailand anyway, so does anyone know if the parts from the US version of Futurlec come from Thailand too? If so, then maybe you can contact the Australian version and see if they can get them for you. I know the American version of Futurlec has a much bigger catalogue than the Australia one and I wish they were the same.

Interesting :) I saw that they had a Sydney Address so assumed they had stock here... must be just an administrative office.

I decided to go with an external crossover and 3 pairs of binding posts per cabinet with my MTM so I'm now feeling a little cost concious on the binding posts! I might send the Australian office an email and ask them about the posts, could well be that they have the stock, but don't advertise in Aus.

Their prices on semiconductors are really good!!!

hehehe I wasn't looking in the right spot on futurlec Australias web site (I needed to look under hardware.... doh)! I found them and they are only 60c AU each! I think I'll be putting in an order for some real soon now, and I might even get myself a couple of LM3886's while I'm at it (only problem being that they are the non-insulated type, and I'm not sure where to get the mica washers from.... edit: just sent them an email to ask whether they have the washers, at $4.66 aus the LM3886T's are a bargain!!
