Rifa 420

Can somone offer some information on a RIFA film cap?

The cap is film on a blue rectangular plastic case
4.7uf
With the following marking

RIFA 420
4.7u J 160-
CV2

Wish to know if this is polyester or poliprop.

A google search for a datasheet gives no result, but I get a few references where it is listed as an MKP

Generally, MKP capacitors are much bigger than MKT/MKS, assuming same value/voltage.

Some Rifa MKP types :
PHE403-PHE404-PHE420-PHE430-PHE431.

All PHE420 are 160volts types, and rather large, the 10uF version is as big as the equivalent red Wima MKP10->BIG
imo, the PHE420 is at least as good as the Wima, but used to be a lot more expensive here.
PHE420 has been replaced by PHE426

Thanks to all for the great help.

Unfortunately the marking does not have any alpha designation. I did also a search on Rifa site but they all now sport a designation before the the number. So still I do have the same doubt though I'm inclined to think they are polyester.

More though, I found on my parts bin some beautiful Siemens 4.7u rated at 250V marked MKP (so no doubt on these ones) also on blue plasitc cases which are somewhat bigger than the Rifa's. But Rifa rating is lower so who knows.

Case size: WxLxH mm

Rifa, 14.6x30.7x24

Siemens, 17.9x31.6x27.4

A 4.7 uF, 160VAC Rifa PHE426 measures 14.5×31.5x24.5

Those are good news, nice to hear that

This is a very good bet, need to compare them to the Siemens which I would prefer to use them on a more demanding aplication that what I have on hand now.

Rating of the Siemens B32650 you have is 250 Vdc/160Vac.

Thanks Jacco, thats the code of the siemens I have and says they are rated at 250V I assume you are correct in pointing that the rating is for DC.
