Building home made heatsinks.

I searched out a post that made passing mention of building ones own heatsinks and I am thinking of taking a stab at it.

For Aleph 5, each sink 450mm wide X 300 high with fins 3mm thick and 50mm deep, 12mm spaces between the fins and using 12mm U-channel between the fins as in the post I found during my search.

All bolted to a 7mm thick aluminum plate. So the finished fin depth would be 38mm.

The materials are readily available as salvage or new and if using salvage these sinks could be made very inexpensively (lots of elbow grease needed of course).

These sizes could be changed to whatever is required.

Any thoughts.
