You can get cheaper ones from harbor freight and what not, work ok for metal, work perfectly fine for plastics and what not. The unibit is obviously better as I believe its carbide aren't they? Maybe not...either way

I bought a set (3) of step drills from Aldi in the UK for 7 @. OK the quality is so-so but for panel hole cutting in ali and plastic they have worked fine. I would not trust then on steel... Add in a cone cutter for the oddball sizes and it dose for my diy needs.

They are truly priceless when you need to mod a chassis and make an existing hole larger!!! Love 'em.
