Hi
In a PSU feeding an audio buffer, a diode has broken down and allows current to run both directions.
I do not know which type to replace it with.
It is a small 4mm long and 1.5mm thick glass thing, dark orange with the printing C16PH.
Does anyone know what it is, a Zener or what??
Would be happy for a reply:D

Hi,
it could be a signal diode or zener.
Could you post a schematic?
maybe someone else recognises the code?

Does this help? I can not see what T2 is.

It's a Philips diode. C16PH is a type code for BZX55-C16, BZX79-C16 or BZV85-C16 depending on the power requirements.
Replacing with BZV85-C16 (1Watt) will surely meet the SOA needs.

/Hugo :)

Please explain this, SOA needs? I am naive in many of those expressions. The only one I know is IMHO = In My Humble Opinion, right? :clown:
