I'm using low noise microphone cable which has two insulated conductors surrounded by a braided shield.
I'm bridging pins 2 and 3 on the xlr end. I was reading a book that seem to suggest soldering the shield to negative at the source end, which in this case would be the xlr end, and leaving it open at the other side. Should I do this? Any problem if I leave the shield open at both ends? |

Thanks for the link, that will be helpful.
Actually, I mistyped. I'm bridging 1 and 3 per the Behringer manual. I'm curious why this site doesn't mention bridging 1 and 3. Vendor specific? |
