Hi,
there's a library 'holes' that contains many different diameters, both with and without a copper ring (that can be connected to any signal). Sebastian. |

Thanks.
One more question: For single sided boards it is desirable to have a large pad size, say 70mils for through-hole components, right? The resistors in Eagle all seem to have small pads, maybe 50 mils or so. Fine for double sided, I suppose, but a bit dicey for single sided with no plating on the through hole. Does anybody worry about this? Is the only solution editing the component libraries? -R |

Your concerns are well founded. The older Eagle libraries had larger through-hole component pads that are more suitable for single-sided boards or hand soldering.

Here you have standard elements library with bigger pads for version 4.X

1a.lbr library includes some capacitors which are a better substitute than the stock Eagle library, but unfortunately no resistors over 7.5mm lead spacing are to be found.
I'll try editing the libraries myself, then. Richard |
