Smile Basic Electronics Question

simple question:

Am I correct that in electronics, floating basically means "Not Connected"

Hi,
floating could mean " no ground reference". i.e. the transformer output could be 12v between the two terminals but the winding is not connected to earth or any other reference voltage.
