Relay Contact Question

I've gotten this 12 VDC relay for my soft start circuit. As I said, the relay is actuated by 12VDC. However, I can't figure out which actuation terminal (A or B) is +12VDC and which is ground??? Does it matter? I did a quick experiement and it works both ways. Before I randomly pick one orientation I wanted to check with you all to see whether this was normal so that I don't damage the relay inadvertently.

Hi,
you can feed dc in either direction.
This relay is taking current all the time the circuit (amp) is on and will run hot.
Try searching for a volt reduction circuit that increases pull-in current and then runs at reduced voltage, about 50% to 70% of rated voltage.
