Hello, all,
I hope that I am posting this to the correct place. I have a 30 watt Craftsman soldering iron which is perfect for what my needs are. Model # 113.540410 However, every time I replace the tip the new ones get progressively harder to screw in due to junk and gunk clogging the threads in the iron. The time to get a new tip approaches. However, despite the iron otherwise being in perfect working condition I fear that I may have to get a new iron instead due to the thread problem. The Sears website has no info at all and I get blank stares at all the hardware / shop stores I've been to. Would anyone know the thread size and diameter for this particular soldering iron? It will be less expensive for me to just create a new thread (or clean it out) for each new tip than buying a whole new set up. Darren (who has another useless 30 watt iron sitting on the side due to the same reason.)
