Does anyone know where I can get 450V safe propylene capacitors in SMD packages?
A lot of them seem to be metallized polyester, PET or polyphenylene sulfide. I could easily get a suitable capacitor in a lead package, but it'd be very helpful if I could find them in SMD. |

I have a small hunch that there aren't any.

a 4.7uF 450 volt MKP is pretty big -- the high end applications for these are in switch-mode power supplies where they can be "guaranteed" for performance. they are pretty large, however. a BC Components 100nF polypropylene capacitor mounts on 200 mils. a Xicon 4.7uF mounts on 1200 mils.
