Hi. I need help to identify this film cap. I can get them locally from a surplus store. Are they any good?

They are 2.5uF, 630V, 5%. The brand is CDET.

Many years ago when I worked for Raytheon on the APG-65 radar we got caps that looked remarkably like those on special order from TRW. They were Teflon film and silver foil with verrry low disipation factor. Sorry, I'm not at liberty to tell you what was inside the APG-65.

I think I found. This is a Cornell Dublier Electronic (CDET ident)

They are Polypropylene double metallized capacitor.
See the web site: http://www.cde.com/
They have a similar part the 942C-6W2P5.
This is a 930C-6W2P5 cap, possibly an older version or a custom part.

Good chance to be very good sounding coupling cap.
I'll try it if possible this weekend.
