I got this wall mounted keypad from my dad from some people who were going to toss it in the garbage because they were upgrading their system. I was wondering if I can salvage it for my own use, particularly to control my Sony receiver from a remote location (my basement). Is it possible for me to wire up IR emitters to this keypad and program it wiht the right commands to control my receiver? Would it be very difficult?

Anything is possible
If you know what to do And can afford it. A schematic of the keypad or a model number would help.
