PCB track spacing (HV)

Hi,

i am searching for information on required PCB track spacing at higher voltages.
I have 700 VDC on this board..

only thing i found so far was a recommendation of 0.12mil per volt.

a pointer to "official" information would be great.

I recall from years gone by that there is a UL or CSA or
other standards org. spec about this. Generally it
comes up when designing boards for switching power supplies.
I don't have ready access to that information any more. Sorry.

The spec is a minimum of 8 mm spacing from 400 to 1200 Volts peak

On FR4, I recall the breakdown being about 70V per mil, but design to 10V per mil.

You would need 70 mil spacing.
