I need to split a balanced connection without impacting the balancing (if possible). The problem is: one side of the split will go to an unbalanced input. I would think that a simple splitter would unbalance the line and I would lose a lot of common mode rejection. I'm trying to keep the signal path minimal - so I don't want to start messing around with op amps or transformers if possible.
Basically, I'm setting up a biamped system such that the natural rolloff of the high packs is the high pass "crossover". My active low pass filter for the sub has only unbalanced inputs. Thanks i advance for help. |

I tried the simple option (no transformer) and the sound was fine - so, no need for big insight any more, I suppose.
