Liquid silicone filled vibration isolators?

I am looking for the manufacturer of liquid silicone filled vibration isolators. I think they are used in some Sony DVD and CD players.

I believe that liquid-silicone-filled padding has been banned
by the US Food and Drug Administratin.

Really, banned by the FDA? What would they have to do with it? It's an industrial product. Where did you get your information?

maybe u could make a small quantity yourself with silicon oil...found around hobby stores(for the miniature suspensions)...

Brian, that is incorrect. There are hundreds of silicone fluids and compounds that have FDA approval for direct food contact, surgical implantation, and ingestion. The only use that's banned is for breast implants, and that was a political, not technical, decision.

None of this is relevant for use in electronics- we use all sorts of materials not approved by the FDA.
