Anybody have any experience with the Audiosource amp 100? They are cheap and seem to be well built. But, how do they sound? What kind of output devices do they use?

I had one on loan from a home theater dealer. I don't recall the model number ( I think it was Amp 1), but it was the 2 channel 80 WPC @8ohm without the meters.
Made in Tiawan, Flat and lifeless. My early 80's Kenwood KRC 750 60WPC reciever sounds better. Since it was a loaner and I quickly decided that I didn't want to keep it, I didn't open it up. I traded it in and kept a Parasound HCA something (125 WPC @ 8 ohm) that is a little better, but miles below my Alephs. I kept it to use as a sub amp after The Alephs are complete and reunited with my system. I don't mean to be too negative. They are worht what they cost, and you may be able to improve them, I don't know. |

Had a buddy tell me that there was a lot of room for improvement...that the design was pretty solid, but Audiosource used the cheapest components they could find.
Me? I dunno. I'd rather start with something a rung or two up the ladder. |
