I'm working on a DAC + headphone amp project for myself, and I've got my eyes on a combination of CS8416 + PCM179x + SRC419x + TPA6120a2, and a few other goodies. I'm doing software volume control, so I'll either use a PCM1792 and a SRC4192, or a PCM1794 and a SRC4193.
Problem is, I can't actually *get* a PCM179x chip! findchips.com doesn't give any hits other than digikey, who have labeled the part "non-stock". TI doesn't give out samples of either chip, and the only company that actually stocks them (according to TI's site) is a European company - I'm not particularly anxious to order parts from overseas, and the company doesn't seem geared to small orders anyway. Anyone know of a source, or have a couple spare chips? |

What?
Digikey PCM1794 139 stock $20.48 PCM1792 0 stock. min order 1 $20.48 Call Digikey for lead time if you must have 1792; just because it isn't stocked doesn't mean it is impossible to order--worth a shot. |

I ordered the PCM1794 a while back and got it with no problems from Digikey.
