Default How much is worth a OPA627?

Hello,
this BB opamp is claimed to one of the best sounding around, but I see that is also one of the most expensive ones... is it worth the cost or there are other opamps with better Q/P ratio?

What would you consider a fair deal for such a opamp? 20$? 15? 10? less?

Cheers

Andrea

The claim is in the eye of the claimant. By no means does it sound one of the best (to my ears). Not worth the asking price.

Try the AD825 and LM6171/2.

I don't believe that the OPA627 is the summum. I've tried them in a diversity of configurations and so far the improvements were mostly negligible, provided that the original chips were of decent quality. I would also suggest that you try the AD823, AD8610 (AD8620) and MAX427.

Hello Andrea,

Maybe this thread can add some interesting info to your question.

Best opamp for I/V conversion? (DAC)

Greetings,
Ray.
