I am trying to build a bass level control for my sub. My HU doesn't have a subwoofer level control and I must say that the bass just is't hitting like it should. I have 2 xplod 12" subs and a sony xplod amp (I know I know, waste of money) running from a sony xplode deck. the deck has no sub controls and only 2 preamps. I want to build a level control so that I can control the level of the bass. I don't want to just attenuate though, I want to be able to sort of amplify the volume of the low frequencies (15db at least) so that I can get the sort of output I want from the amp and subs without having to increase the bass on the HU and ruin my 3-way speakers.

Hi
Try the attached circuit just before the amp input C2 and R2 are used to help to keep the circuit stable Mark |

I've posted the circuit again as it had a resistor missing (R6).
For an explantion of how this type of circuit works, have a look at the following page - http://sound.westhost.com/project28.htm Mark |
