Apologies if this is a really simple question, but I would appreciate your help.
I'm thinking of buying a bel canto DAC from the USA to use in the UK. What would be the easiest way of doing a volatage conversion for the uk mains supply (240v/50hz). thanks |

A lot of equipment is dual voltage. So you may only have to move a jumper or change a switch position. Or if it uses a switchmode supply you probably have to do nothing.
If it is 120V only just buy a cheap 240V/120V step-down transformer from RS. Best regards, Mikkel C. Simonsen |

Thanks for the reply. I'm checking with bel canto to see how their psu works.
Failing that, would just using a regular, step down transformer introduce additional noise on the mains? |

No it may remove some noise, but not add any. I don't think it will change anything.
