I'm building a crossover. I have some old inductor coils that are bigger than the coils I need for the new crossover. Can I just unwind the old coil a bit?
Or is this not a good idea?
I have a meter to test inductance.
We used to do that. I could buy inductors from Parts Express in even values 1mH, 2mH, 3mH, etc. And when I needed a 2.7mH, I just hooked a 3mH to my L meter, and unwound until I got 2.7. Voila.
