I've been looking at some of the NOS Russion PIO caps - the MBGO and the KGB types that come in rectangular metal cans. It seems that finding higher uF values with 600v ratings is rather difficult. This makes me wonder, are the voltage ratings that are printed on the cans in AC or DC???
Anyone have any insights here?
Thanks in advance.

Always assume DC ratings unless AC is explicitly stated.

This is a smart assumption - I was hoping someone would tell me otherwise...
That's pretty much how capacitors are traditionally marked.
Series (with balancing resistors) is the way to go for higher voltages.

Huh, all of this time and I didn't recognize this as convention for markings.
Perhaps because of languages, sometimes you'll see V- for DC and V~ for AC.
