Non Magnetic
The Holco range H2 H4 and H8 were once upon a time non magnetic construction, now they have magnetic (steel) end caps that link the resistive element with the lead material (I'm not certain if the lead is now steel as well) I think this is what JC is refering to. I do have quite a few old (non mag H2) but they always were very delicate and could go noisy very easily, any strain on the end caps, I assume this is why they changed.
