I'm rebuilding a transistor VOX guitar amplifier (with no schematic). No issues but there's a component on the board I've never seen before. It has two leads going in one end and two out the other. There aren't any markings on it other than the board being labelled "PH1"...a designation I've never seen before.

Can someone tell me what this thing is? See attachment.

No neon, these have LEDs in the one end. This would be used for the trem circuit.

PH1 - photocell 1.

If you told us the model, we may have the schematic. The part is identified on the drawing. LT9914 (Sometimes LT9912) Many guys have replaced them with Vactrols.

The two trimmer controls next to it bias the part, and need to be set up right. That can be done by ear if need be.
