Small discreet audio proc

Hey,

I'm seeing how I could go about making a small, discreet audio player and speaker system (and I mean around one inch at the most) for a music box.

Have some expierence with micro controllers and other stuff but this kinda stumped me. I've read about light sensors that turn on when exposed to low amounts of light (for example the light that would hit it when one opens the lid of a music box) or maybe some kind of pressure sensor but why I'm here is for information about how I could go about this.

I have some ideas but I am a bit lost on the tech. side.
