Default Opa1678/1679

Thoughts on this one? Pretty new, not much info out there.


Looking at playing with changing some tl072 (mostly tl074 actually) to likely opa1644's in some mobile audio gear. Adds up quick...

Saw this as a much more cost effective upgrade?

The OPA1678 and 1679 are CMOS amplifiers, which can work great, but will have a lot of 1/f (low frequency) noise compared to other BiFET amplifiers like the OPA1644.

That said, the TL072 has a lot of 1/f noise as well, and a higher amount of noise at all frequencies, so even if the OPA167x is "noisy" by some standards, the TL07x is even worse. This means the OPA167x could be a good replacement - much better distortion, bandwidth, and a much better output stage.
