How do I dim it down to only a "indicator" amount of light level?
can I color over it with a sharpie or something?
or would it be better to put a resistor in series?
its waaaaaaaaaay too bright. like blindingly bright
Acer LED 1080p 60hz display (the display brightness is fine. i'm talking about the power-on indicator LED)

Dan.
What would be the most simple way to do it that requires the least effort?
its a diffused LED but still very bright (probably driven at the full 20mA)
Buy a roll of black insulation tape, the last one I bought cost £0.25 - thats a $0.32.
The only way to make that led dimmer and spend less is not to turn the damn thing on
Ladyboy confession ?, lol.I use fingernail polish. Get the cheapest you can find, like at the dollar store. Pearl white or silver works well and looks nice, tho you could use other colors. It often takes more than one coat.
