Do I just need to exchange the power supply in my Alesis EQ with a 12 volt one to get this to work in my car, or is there more to it? Where can I get one of these power supplies that will work? I am currently using a normal power inverter to do the job, but I would prefer the conversion to 12 volt for a number of reasons, one being that I might finish the installation and have the inverter malfunction after it is hidden in the installation, causing multiple ulcers. Any suggestions?

The power supply in the Alesis probably provides +/-12v or +/-15v to it's circuits.
You should latch onto a schematic to start with. If you could find a 12 to +/-12v converter you would probably be in good shape assuming you have the knowledge to make the chaneover. The easiest route is to use the inverter. If it's well made product it shouldn't be any more prone to failure than any other component. |
