I've just found this collecting dust at work. I did a search on google and here but found no technical data besides freq range wich seems to be more then enough.
Anyone know if it can be used for audio (and/or if its dynamic range is in the 100dB plus range)? /Michael |

The HP8590 is a nice spectrum analyzer, not great , but nice. It is a RF instrument and not usable for audio. The viewable frequency range is something like 100kHz to 1.8gHz. Just a mite outside the audio range.

you'll be hard-pressed to find any spectrum analyzer with
100 dB dynamic range. The HP3585 got close, if you played some tricks. The New Agilent PSA series as well as the similar R&S units can get close as well

The Rohde and Schwarz FSU, FSQ, FSE and FSIQ series all have well over 100dB dynamic range. They are not audio spectrum analyzers though.
