CD display not working

I have just brought a NAD C520 CD player off ebay but the display is not working. Is this common with NaD and how do I mend it please.

Looking again at the display it does work but its very faint. Can you turn the illumination up ?

my nad cd player had backlights in it bulbs. just replace em
mine where 12 volt bulbs i picked them up at radio shack.

there should be 2 bulbs

under white cover on the back of the lcd. it will be bulbs or lcd.

forget it. it uses electro-luminescent backlight no bulbs sorry

The driver IC for the display tube may be dead because it is very ESD sensitive.
